How To Change People Without Offending them Or Arousing Resentment.
Begin with praise and honest appreciation. Call attention to people’s mistakes indirectly. Talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person. Ask questions instead of giving direct orders. Let the other person save face. Praise the slightest improvement and praise every improvement. Be “hearty in your approval and lavish in your praise.” Be a good example for the other person to live up to. Use encouragement. Make the fault seem easy to correct. Make the other person happy about doing the thing you suggest.
6 Ways leaders can change someone's attitude or behavior:
1. Be sincere. Do not promise anything that you cannot deliver. Forget about the benefits to yourself and
concentrate on the benefits to the other person.
2. Know exactly what it is you want the other person to do.
3. Be empathetic. Ask yourself what is it the other person really wants.
4. Consider the benefits that person will receive from doing what you suggest.
5. Match those benefits to the other person’s wants.
6. When you make your request, put it in a form that will convey to the other person the idea that he
personally will benefit.

Get More Influence: How To Win People To Your Way Of Thinking.
Sometimes disagreements happen. The only way to get the best of a disagreement is to avoid it. Just take your mind outside of it an rise above it. Then show respect for the other person's point of view, never say... "your wrong."
If you discover you were mistaken admit it quickly and emphatically.
Begin in a friendly way, get the other person saying, "yes" "yes" immediately. Let the other person do a great deal of the talking. Let the other person feel the idea is his (or hers). Try honestly to see things from the other person's point of view.
Be sympathetic with the other person's ideas and desires. Make an appeal to greater motives. Dramatize your ideas, put some feeling in it. Then throw down a challenge.

7. It's what you Do that Makes a Difference A message from... Cindy McAseyMost of us are alike in our Dreams. Most of us are alike in the promises we make. What sets us apart and makes each of us different is what we do.
Last week I was visiting with my Mom, she was sharing with me how her railroad retirement (much like Social Security for retired railroad workers and their families) didn't go up this year. According to the letter that she received their was no cost of living increase like they generally get on an annual basis. She said to me, "How can that be look at the price of gas from last year to this year." We had a long talk about the state of the economy today, I shared with her stories I had heard of folks loosing their disability. Folks getting hit with tax bills unexpectedly for small enough amounts it's not worth hiring someone to fight it so they just pay it or have it garnished from their bonus check.
George Washington once said, "Where are the men of abilities why do they not come forth and save this country."
Whether you want to admit it or not our country needs us the small business owner. It's the small business owner that has the ability to pull the country out of the mess we're in. It's what you do that makes a difference.
Teddy Roosevelt once said, "Its not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The truth about social media and Return On Investment (ROI)
Right now, small businesses have a huge advantage over big business in actually being able to convert social media conversations into dollars and cents. Heres why:
Small business:
Can be less censored They dont have to wade through layers of social media do/dont policy and legal sign-off on every tweet, update, post or comment. And, in social media, people respond to real and spontaneous. So, its much easier to build the conversation

Case Study: Mountainbike Madness
Mountabike Madness is a bike shop run by two college friends, Mario and Eva. Its a real business with a great product and its growing nicely. But theyre always interested in finding new ways to get customers to the shop. Along with trying out street teams, the local pennysaver, mailings, sandwich boards and a bunch of other marketing ideas. Eva gets the idea to start to play around with twitter.
Actually, she already had a personal account. So did Mario, so theyre familiar with the nature of conversation in the communities, because theyre already regular users. So, they set up a Mountainbike Madness account and use Mario as the name associated with the account.
They use twitters search function and a number of other tools twice a day to find people in their neighborhood who either have some variation of the word bike in their profile or their tweets. They broaden it out to various forms of outdoor activities, too. They see what these potentially likeminded folks talking about, then follow them and join in the conversations they are having.
They also start to share all sorts of funny, quirky, edgy quotes, ideas, and stories. And, here and there, they throw out tweets about instant giveaways for the first person to tweet their favorite rider, grip or trail. They do daily or weekly specials on bikes, parts, clothing and other schwag. They share cool tips and riding strategies and arent afraid to show their personalities. They announce weekly Rave Rides where everyone has 4 hours to show at a particular trailhead for an epic group ride. And, once a month, they do a one-day 20% off twitter-only sale from the back of a truck and you have to be following them to know where it will be.
After 3 months, they can track twitter related sales to an average of 30% of daily sales and total sales have gone up 20% since starting on twitter. Not only is it great for their community, for customer service theyre using social media to put money in the bank.
So there you have it. There are many ways to market online if you aren't considering adding social media to the mix your missing out on a big chunk of profits. Yes there is a right way and wrong way. Be sure to follow those who know how to do it the right way.

You know I LOVE twitter, but over the last week I have seen a sense of panic, mostly because I have been focusing on a target market that isn't currently a small business owner. There is so much education to be done for some of these poor souls or at least they think they are poor because the media tells them how bad it is.
I've got "NEWS" for you just because the media paints a doom and gloom picture it doesn't have to be like that. Let's face it. Doom and gloom sells. Look at 911 how many people (including me) were glued to the TV watching and listening. Remember the year 2000 scare when all electronic data was going to be wiped out? Did it happen? NO... Did some people take advantage of it a make a boat load? YES
It amazes me these predictors are not held accountable for their stupidity when the bad things DONT come to pass. Sadly, Ive found that some of the greatest tragedies Ive seen in my life, like 9/11, Huricane Katrina, and earth quakes, tsunamis, and other disasters were not predicted or prevented in any real way at all.
Any thinking person understands depressions, natural disasters, war, and more... does happen and that is unfortunately a part of life as we know it. But the media doesnt want you to think they want you to be afraid and dependant and turn to them for comfort day in and day out (bad, bad idea they never report good news). To my knowledge, worrying about such events has not prevented any of them!
Action and imagination solve problems a whole lot better than worrying.

However, the doomsayers predict doom almost every day it and the media seems eerily cheerful in reporting on anything negative that happens around the world in real time, 24 hours a day year round. What is missing is perspective.
Miracles, recovery, healing, new discoveries, massive profits, enlightenment, giving, growth, birth, beauty and joy are ALSO happening every day around the world.
But youd never know about it if you rely on the NEWS media for your view of reality.
If you want to profit from these times, let McCain, Obama, the stock market, real estate woes and the nattering ninnies in Congress shuffle papers around to their hearts content. And ignore them. If you have real estate problems or stock troubles, educate yourself on how to best deal with those issues. Tell yourself over and over.. "If it is to be it's up to me" Don't rely on anyone to bail you out!
Dont envy or resent the rich, join them! The Money is still right under our noses. In fact this "recession" will produce more billionaires than ever before. (Some people are THRILLED to see it coming) Stocks and Real Estate will be bought at rock bottom prices. (Only to be sold for massive profits in a few short years) Advertising for your business will be much cheaper, because there won't be the competition from the nervous nellies.

Proactive. We see something coming and we do something about it. We take the bull by the horns.
Focus on Sales. Bottomline we are in sales may as well admit it. We focus on Sales, not the "news"
Focus on Value. We market and sell products that add good value. Something that is consumable that consumers need and want.
Focus on Abundance. Think in terms of abundance we understand there is plenty of money out there and we can make as much as we want.
Ready to take Action. We think outside the box and are ready to take advantage of opportunity when it comes our way.
Focus on Marketing. We constantly invest (time and money) in marketing we know our business must be preforming marketing that works, we test it, we track it, we know what's working.
